Terms of Use

Effective 3 October 2026. Short and plain, for the TagTown apps and this website.

1. Using TagTown

TagTown is a free real-life game made by an individual developer in Belgium. By installing or using the app or this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

2. Play safely and responsibly

  • TagTown is played outdoors in the real world. You are responsible for your own safety and for the people you play with.
  • Stay aware of traffic and your surroundings. Do not play while driving or cycling.
  • Respect private property and local rules. Choose a play area where you are allowed to be.
  • Keep the game friendly. Do not use it to follow, harass or frighten anyone.
  • TagTown is not directed at children under 13. Parents decide whether their child may play, because the app uses precise location while a game runs.

3. Your information

How the app uses location, Bluetooth, camera and your nickname is described in the Privacy Policy. Other players in your game can see your nickname, emoji, role and position while the game runs. Choose a nickname that you are happy to share with them.

4. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app or its servers. That includes trying to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, accessing or changing other people's game rooms, or using the app for anything unlawful.

5. No guarantees

TagTown is provided “as is”. Bluetooth range, GPS accuracy and phone battery vary, so we cannot promise that every tag, map position or alert is exact or that the app will always work without interruption. We may change, pause or stop the app or the servers at any time.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage that results from playing TagTown or from relying on the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services (for example connectivity, maps and the app stores), which have their own terms. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will change the effective date above when we do. These terms are governed by Belgian law, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
