1. Who we are

TagTown is an independent game made in Belgium. For any privacy question or request, write to tagtown@locatelloapp.com.

2. What we collect and why

We only use information that the game needs to work.

Information	Used for	Who sees it
Precise location	Shows you and the other players on the game map, keeps you inside the game area and checks who is nearby. Used while a game is running, including when the screen is locked or the app is in the background.	Shared with the other players in your game. We do not keep a history of where you have been. The starting point of a game is saved with the game setup.
Bluetooth proximity	Detects which players are physically close to each other.	Stays on the nearby phones. We do not keep it.
Nickname and emoji (optional, no account)	Shown to the other players in your game. Stored on your phone so you do not have to enter them again.	Shared with the other players. If you host a game, they are also saved with the game setup.
Game setup and game results	Lets friends join with a code and shows who won.	Shared with the players in the game. Game setup details are saved so others can join.
Camera	Only to scan the QR code that lets you join a game.	The image is processed on your phone and is never recorded or saved.
Technical diagnostics (Android)	If Bluetooth stops working during a game, a short technical report can be sent to the developer so bugs can be fixed. It contains your phone model, system and app version and a random game identifier. It never contains your location, nickname or contacts.	Sent to the developer only.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or analytics.

3. Who can see it

Other players in your game can see your nickname, emoji, role and position on the map while the game runs. That is how the game works.

We use trusted service providers to connect players, load map images and deliver the app and this website. They can see technical data such as your internet address while they do this. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Some providers may process data outside your country; where this happens we rely on the safeguards they offer.

4. How long we keep it

Player positions and Bluetooth proximity are not stored as a history. Nickname and emoji stay on your phone until you change them or delete the app. Game setup details are kept so that friends can join, and we delete them when you ask. Technical diagnostics are kept only as long as needed to fix the problem.

5. Your choices and rights

You can use the app without sharing your location or camera, but you cannot join a game without location. You can change permissions at any time in your phone settings, and delete the app to remove what is stored on your phone.

If the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you can ask us for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your information, and object to its use. Email tagtown@locatelloapp.com and tell us your nickname, emoji and roughly when you played, so we can find what relates to you. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Belgium that is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données.

We process your information to provide the game you asked for and, for location, Bluetooth and camera, with your consent through your phone permission prompts. Diagnostics rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the game working.

6. Permissions on your phone

• Location: needed to play. It also runs in the background while a game is on, and you will see a notification on Android.
• Bluetooth: needed to detect nearby players.
• Camera: only to scan a join QR code.
• Notifications and local network: used for in-game status and connections between phones.

7. Children

TagTown is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information such as names, email addresses or phone numbers from anyone. The game does use precise location while it runs, so parents should decide whether their child plays. If you think a child’s information should be removed, contact us.

8. This website

This website has no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts. Our hosting provider processes technical request data such as your internet address to deliver pages and keep the site secure. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or the store listing if the change is significant.
