From the couch to the chase.
Set up your town
One player creates the game. Choose how long it lasts, how many zombies start, how big the play area is and how close two phones must be for a tag. You can also turn on a shrinking play area.

Scan, pick an emoji, you are in
Friends scan the host's QR code to join. No account and no sign-up, just a nickname and an emoji. The lobby shows who has arrived and checks that Bluetooth, location and internet are on for everyone.

Run, hide, chase
Everyone is human except the starting zombies. Humans survive until the timer runs out. Get too close to a zombie and your phone tells you the moment you are infected, and you switch sides. A live map shows the play area and warns you when you step outside it.

Your role, right on the lock screen.
With a Live Activity, the lock screen and Dynamic Island show your role, how many humans and zombies are left and the time on the clock, so you can keep your phone in your pocket and keep running.
Live Activities need iOS 16.1 or later. On Android, a notification shows that your game is running.

Made for playing outside.
TagTown is built around one idea: a tag should mean you were really close to someone.
Real proximity
Phones find each other with Bluetooth Low Energy, so a tag happens between people standing near each other, not just dots on a map.
iPhone and Android together
Mix any supported phones in the same game. Nobody has to switch devices to join the fun.
Live map and play area
See the play area and get a warning when you leave it. Hosts can make the area shrink as the game goes on.
Host in control
Set the game length, starting zombies, play area size and proximity sensitivity before anyone joins.
Keeps going with the screen locked
Location and Bluetooth keep working in your pocket, with sound alerts when you get infected.
Private by design
No ads, no tracking and no selling of data. Your nickname and position are shared only with the players in your game. Read the privacy policy.
Questions before you start.
How many players do I need?
You need at least two phones. TagTown is most fun with four or more players, because then there is someone to hide behind and someone to chase.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up. You pick a nickname and an emoji, scan the host's QR code and you are in.
Does it work with iPhone and Android in the same game?
Yes. iPhones and Android phones can play in the same game.
How does a tag work?
Phones detect each other with Bluetooth Low Energy. When a human's phone gets close enough to a zombie's phone, the human is infected and switches sides. The host chooses how close that is with the proximity sensitivity setting.
What does my phone need to have switched on?
Bluetooth, location and an internet connection. The lobby checks all three for every player before the game starts.
Is TagTown free?
Yes, it is free to play and has no ads.
Who can see my location?
Only the other players in your game, and only while the game runs. Positions travel from phone to phone and are not kept as a history on our side. The privacy policy explains exactly what is used and why.
Is it safe to play?
Stay aware of traffic and your surroundings, respect private property and do not play while driving or cycling. Pick a play area that suits the age and experience of your group.
